Why people call us

Signs your water needs attention

Few people start with a lab report. They start with something they notice around the house. These are the four we hear about most.

White crust and cloudy glasses

Hard water leaves minerals behind wherever it dries. Faucets crust over, glass shower doors haze, and dishes never look quite clean.

Orange stains and odd smells

Iron and manganese stain sinks, tubs, and laundry. Hydrogen sulfide gives well water that unmistakable rotten-egg smell.

Appliances that wear out early

Scale coats the inside of water heaters, dishwashers, and washing machines. They work harder, use more energy, and fail sooner.

Questions about safety

A positive bacteria test, news about PFAS, or an old home with unknown plumbing. Sometimes you simply want to know what is in the glass.

Our systems

Matched to your water, not a price sheet

A rowhome on city water and a farmhouse on a deep well have very different needs. We size every system to your water, your household, and the space you have.

Our story
“A consultation should answer your questions, not open a sales presentation.”

Springhouse has been testing and treating water for Southeastern Pennsylvania families since 1978. Today, the business is led by Francis Kinniry from our office in West Chester, with the same focus on wells, hard water, and doing the job right.

Too many homeowners get a free water test that turns into a high-pressure pitch. Springhouse has always done the opposite. A real conversation, a written recommendation, a fair price in writing, and a local team that keeps your system running long after the install.

Where we work

Serving seven counties across Southeastern Pennsylvania

Based in West Chester, we have covered seven counties since 1978. Water changes a lot from one to the next, and here is what we tend to see in each.

Bucks County

County seat Doylestown

Roughly 42,000 households here rely on private wells. PFAS has been found in public water in parts of the county, especially around the former military bases near Warminster and Horsham.

Towns we serve →

Chester County

County seat West Chester

About 44,800 households are on private wells, more than almost anywhere in the region. PFAS has turned up in many public systems tested, and utilities are investing in new treatment.

Towns we serve →

Delaware County

County seat Media

Most homes are on public water. Chlorine taste and hardness are the usual questions, along with lead risk in older homes built before modern plumbing rules.

Towns we serve →

Montgomery County

County seat Norristown

A mix of public water in the lower county and private wells further north. Horsham and nearby townships have dealt with PFAS linked to the former Willow Grove base.

Towns we serve →

Philadelphia

City and county

City water comes from the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers and is treated to federal standards. Disinfectant taste is a common complaint, and many older rowhomes still have lead service lines.

Neighborhoods we serve →

Berks County

County seat Reading

Limestone valleys produce some of the hardest water in the region, and much of the rural county runs on private wells that are rarely tested.

Towns we serve →

Lancaster County

County seat Lancaster

Limestone geology means very hard water, and nitrates are a well-known concern for wells in farm country. Regular testing matters here more than most places.

Questions

Straight answers before you book

Something we have not covered? Send us a note and a real person will write back.

Ask us anything
Do I need a water test before buying anything?

Not always. Many homes already have useful information, like a utility water quality report or an earlier well test. We start with a free consultation, and if a lab test would change the answer, we will tell you.

What happens during the free consultation?

We talk through your water source, what you have noticed, and any results you already have. Then we explain your options and follow up with a written recommendation and price. There is no cost and no obligation.

Will you push me to buy a system?

No. If your water is fine, we will say so. If it needs treatment, you get a written quote and as much time as you need. There are no tonight-only prices.

Is my well water safe to drink?

Only a test can tell you. Pennsylvania does not regulate private well water, so we recommend testing for bacteria every year and after any flood or change in taste or smell.

Can you treat PFAS?

Yes. Under-sink reverse osmosis is one of the most effective ways to reduce PFAS in drinking water. A certified lab test tells you what you are starting with, and we will help you make sense of it.

Is installation really free?

Yes. Installation is included with every system we sell, done by our own installers rather than subcontractors, and covered by a 1-year labor warranty.

What does the lifetime warranty cover?

On our whole-home systems, the media tanks, brine tank, and ceramic discs are covered for life. The control valve and media are covered for 5 years. See our warranty page for every product.

Do you service equipment you did not install?

Yes. We inspect existing softeners and filters, test the water they are treating, and tell you honestly whether they need service, parts, or replacement.
